Do I need a special scanner?
No, any office scanner capable of scanning paper documents to a multipage PDF or TIF file will work. If you are scanning many pages, then an automatic document feeder will save you huge amounts of time but a flat bed scanner would also work.
On a slightly more technical note, when a document is scanned to a TIF file, it should be done with LZW (lossless) compression, but this is a common feature of modern scanners.
We can implement a very effective OCR solution that does not rely on having the latest scanner. Please contact us for more information about arranging a trial of this solution - setting this up takes just a few seconds.
